Cameron Turner, a seasoned nonprofit leader, brings a wealth of diverse experience to her role as the Executive Director of the Atlanta Children's Shelter (ACS). Her unwavering commitment to serving the Atlanta community drives her to lead ACS's strategic and operational initiatives in alignment with the Shelter's core vision, mission, and values. Cameron's primary focus encompasses early childhood and adult education, employment, behavioral health, and housing, all vital components in addressing homelessness and generational poverty across our region.
At the heart of her role, Cameron excels in forging transformative partnerships with both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, ensuring ACS's ability to provide high-quality services and opportunities to its clients. Her true joy lies in facilitating meaningful connections within the community, acting as a catalyst for positive change.
Prior to her tenure at ACS, Cameron held key positions such as the Director of Institutional Giving at the Atlanta Community Food Bank and the Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations for the Atlanta Mission. With 22 years of unwavering dedication to Atlanta and North Georgia's most vulnerable populations, Cameron has honed her expertise in fundraising, strategic planning, capital campaigns, program development, leadership, and team building.
Cameron holds a degree in Nonprofit Administration from Kennesaw State University, a testament to her commitment to lifelong learning and excellence in her field. Outside of her work in the nonprofit sector, she finds relaxation on the tennis court as an avid ALTA tennis player, enjoys exploring new destinations through travel, and cherishes every moment spoiling her nieces and nephews.
